OperationX uses a wide variety of software such as PhotoShop, PhotoDraw, CorelDraw, MSPaint and even Flash for image editing. We avoid the use of "WYSIWYG" (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) applications for web design. Many web design companies actually brag about all the programs they use to put together a project: FrontPage, FireWorks, GoLive, InterDev, DreamWeaver, whatever. These products are great as shortcuts for the novice programmer or for cranking out generic "assembly line" projects, but there are considerable costs:
There is a limit to what these programs can create. It is virtually impossible to edit or error check the computer generated code manually if you decide you want your page to do something beyond the program's scope. Then if you do, you lose the ability to use the tool from whence it came!
Secondly, the code created by these programs is much more cumbersome and space intensive. For your project, this means wasted server space, slower download speeds and less flexibility i.e. less performance and higher cost.
We are aware of these fine tools and know how to use them but at OperationX, we choose to punch every line of code in your project by hand.
